Rembrandt Harmenszoon van Rijn was a Dutch painter and etcher. He is considered to be one of the greatest painters and printmakers in the European art history along with his unique position in Dutch history.
He was born on 15th July, 1606 and died on 4th October, 1669. His work was great particularly in portraits of his contemporaries, self portraits and illustrations of scenes from the Bible. His self-portraits form a unique and intimate biography, in which the artist surveyed himself without vanity and with the utmost sincerity.
